Credit agency: No win no fee solicitor?

Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a no win no fee solicitor who specialises in wrongly affected credit reports please? My credit score was ruined because Equifax failed to show a historic debt on my file. This meant I couldn't refinance my mortgage and so I sold my house. Turned out the debt should have been removed from my file years before. I joined Experian, the problem immediately showed up. I called the company involved (Orange now EE) who removed the default and overnight my score went from poor to excellent. But too late as I'd sold my house. Thanks very much. Nick (Cardiff)

  • No.

You should have contacted the creditor to get them to amend what they were reporting to Equifax.  The absence of a debt is also very unlikely to cause an issue.

Who are you looking to try and sue here? Equfax, Experian or EE? Equifax can only go off the information they’re provided by the credit company. Did you not thinking to contact EE in the first instance when you could see it was causing you issues?

do you mean they failed to show the debt was settled? Not that it matters, I’m just looking to get clarity on what your issue is.

    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
