Late mortgage payment

Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help?
My April mortgage payment was taken a day earlier than usual, there wasn’t enough money in the account so it bounced. I settled this in full 2 weeks later.
Now I have a missed payment recorded on my credit file. I’ve tried talking to the mortgage company who’ve said even though it’s been paid in full its recorded as a missed payment and there is nothing they can do to change this.

Is this right can I challenge in any way? If payment was taken on the correct day I wouldn’t be in this situation!
Thanks
Ps. Apologies, I think I’ve posted this in the wrong topic and can’t work out how to delete!

Their systems just record the actual event and adjustments to alter it don't happen.

it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)1 -

If it was taken 1 day earlier than the agreed date then that would make it a breach of the direct debit guarantee.

Their error caused this. not you.
Of course, this assumes it was their error and not yours by assuming the wrong date was the norm.

Payment is due on 1st but if that falls on a weekend it’s taken on the Monday. In April this was taken on 30th which was a Wednesday.
I think I may need to open a complaint. Thanks for your help,

My mortgage payment also comes out on the 1st of the month, what I have noticed (for a long time now) is if the 1st falls on a Saturday/Sunday the payment always comes out on the first Monday after that weekend. I'm with Santander and that's the way they do it which seems fair, you could always ask to change your payment date to avoid this error in future?0
