Should I be concerned? I’ve got my heart set on owning somewhere of my own rather than paying £200 a month more to rent someone else’s grotty home. I think it would break me if I got declined now, I’m already losing the love of my life, I don’t want to lose the only positive thing that’s happening in my life right now.
    Hi Snoopy,
We are going through the same right now, so I feel your pain. Self employed.
Have you had an update yet? Fingers crossed for you!
  • Going through the same at the moment, except we are in the middle of appealing a declined application with Halifax.
They declined before valuation based on me having been employed in previous years and being self employed/company shareholder for the last year with a significantly higher income. Our broker has appealed as they should only of been looking at our one year as self employed and my previous employment shouldn’t of come into it. Very frustrating and disheartening and by the looks of it appeals generally don’t have great success rates. Hoping you have better luck than me!
  • We also same situation , Halifax asked last 3months bank statements and we send it on 17 of July. We r waiting for their results ..
