Bank of Ireland Mortgage for UK resident??

Options
I'm about to apply for my first mortgage. I'm using L&C brokers as recommended on MSE. The broker has suggested a Bank of Ireland Mortgage. On the Bank of Ireland's website, it says new mortgages are for NI customers only, but the broker is saying it's fine. I'm worried about the application being declined. Help!

  • Check the detail of the offer as when I got mine which was a 5 year fix the early redemption fees were really high and I would only make overpayments over £500. I just think it is good to be aware of these things.

I am currently on Bank of Ireland mortgage. Leaving them to halifax as i am moving house and they wont lend additional funds due to having a default in the past 3 years. You can over pay as little as you want but it knock off interest till you have at least 500 pounds in over payments. I currently put my extra cash weekly in to my mortgage to reduce my erc that i need to pay around august.
