60th meal cancelled

At the beginning of March we booked a meal in a hotel in Huddersfield to celebrate my 60th on 20th June. We paid £150 deposit which was non-refundable but we could change the date, if necessary. Obviously the hotel was not open on 20th June and we asked for a refund but they are still saying it's non-refundable and we can rebook or get vouchers. Are we entitled to push for a refund given that they were closed on the day?
