First time buyer bit lost and confused

Hello folks
I have moved from being self employed/contractor into permanent work and have some money saved up, this week an offer too good to miss has  fallen into my lap and im seeking advice from a mortgage adviser, however having never done this before I dont really know where to start
anyone have any suggestions for someone I could speak to ?

    @naffets The first thing you need to do is get a reliable estimate of how much you can realistically borrow. A mortgage broker would be the best person to approach for that.
    MSE has some recommendations here or you can PM brokers that you have seen posting on these forums as well
    Brokers are pretty busy now and sometimes you need to say 'Yes' to the question of whether you have an offer accepted to get attention.Since you already have a specific property to hand, that should not be a problem as you will have firm figures for price, deposit and borrowing required.
