Heads up, compers! In order to investigate a technical issue, we've had to move some of the older threads from Game Over into a new category called 'Game Over Archives'. It'll be comps from before 2017, so shouldn't have too much impact on your day-to-day Forum experience. Thanks for your patience!

Free car competition, reluctant to post on the main thread, could someone take a look?

Came across this on facebook, but I'm a little suspicious and reluctant to post it, can't see any problem with it though. The car is probably 2nd hand - says new tyres.
What I've found so far are their general terms https://stormcompetitions.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/

The competition rules are incredibly short:
Entry is completely free of charge
Entries accepted from UK & ROI residents only
Entrants must be 18+. ID will be taken from the winner
    Cash alternative available.
One entry per person. Duplicate entries will be removed.

I'm with you - it looks suspicious. The site has a dodgy feel to me, but I may be wrong of course and that is only based on gut feeling having looked at so many competition sites over the years.

Edit - I had a look at their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stormcompetitions/ and it's made me more suspicious since they are also giving away cash prizes. I see two recent ones at £1k and £10k. They also gave away another mercedes recently, although the winner appears to have bought a ticket for that since it refers to him paying £25. They seem to have had 995 entries for that. If they charged £25 a ticket that would mean they earned almost £25k from ticket sales which would probably cover the price of the car if it's second hand.

Maybe they usually charge, to afford the prizes, and this time they aren't?

I think they do usually charge on further inspection. Tickets for their £10k draw are £7.99 a piece.
Maybe this free one is to draw people in and hope they'll stay for future paid comps? I'm still suspicious though.
