Help candle wax on vinyl wall paper

Hi

Can anyone help me please? I have blown out a candle and the melted wax has blown up onto the vinyl wallpaper, how do I get it off?

Thanks in advance

  • You should let it dry hard, you should then be able to carefully scrape it off with a blunt knife, the vinyl wallpaper should not have really let the wax soak into the surface I dont think

    Googled this tip:-

First put some ice cubes in a zip-lock bag and run the bag over the wax to freeze and harden it. Once the wax is hard, it should be easy to peel off most of it - gently lift with a rounded butter knife.

Next, dampen a sheet of white paper, a piece of a brown paper bag or a clean towel. Put the paper over the stain and run a hair dryer (warm, not hot, to start with) over it. An iron should work here, too) As the stain melts off onto the paper, move the paper to a clean spot and replace it if necessary.
  • I asked about this 2 years ago roughly! I did the following:

Sprayed wall with hairspray, then wiped with a piece of paper towel. Got about 80% off but mine was red candle wax and looked like a murder had been committed...well one nearly was after the candle had been blown out:D

I was successful using the brown paper and warm iron method, luckily my wax was white- not sure how it would work on red wax
  • How about warming it with a hairdryer and wiping it with kitchen roll?
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!
