@jamielutz1987 This website mentions being available only on a like for like basis?
    https://www.nationwide-intermediary.co.uk/products/product-finder
Or does this website only apply to customers not going direct through Nationwide and via a broker?

You are right it does mention like for like only.
Though the retail website doesn't mention the like4like limitation for existing customers going direct, the same might well apply.

@jamielutz1987 yeah I’m going to have to call them tomorrow to get a definitive answer. I had hoped someone on here would have the answer lol
  • They said no to us. Existing mortgage with them at about 85%, moving home and want to port existing and increase to 90%. I think they'll only do it if it is equal to your existing LTV. Affordability etc is no issue for us either (had AIP already).
We've had to apply with HSBC and will have to pay exit fee to Nationwide (although I will discuss with them to see if there if there is anything they can do).

@Olivia077 When was that if you don’t mind me asking? Was it Nationwide direct that you were dealing with or through a broker? There seems to be a lot of confusing information out there.
How is it going so far with HSBC?
  • Just under a week ago. We went to them directly. It is really confusing and I was under the impression they'd do it, but apparently not!
So far so good with HSBC. Valuation booked and awaiting decision. Fingers crossed.

Spoke to them today and the person I spoke to didn’t know. Said she would need to ask someone else, was put on hold then disconnected. Not very happy as I wasn’t asking anything that’s complicated (in my opinion). We are wary or getting a decision in principle before knowing the answer to this. (Pretty confident it’s going to be we need 85% LTV which we are lucky enough to manage but wanted an answer either way)
