Circumstances changed, I've told my lender....what next

My son has additional needs, and during covid it became impossible for me to work from home. It was either stay employed and unpaid for time off with him, or become his full time carer. I opted for the latter.
The only thing is is were about 6 weeks away from completing on our house purchase.
I've spoken to the lender, and they've told me that affordability wise it's fine and and to keep quiet about our conversation. I'm getting nervous.
Although my partners salary alone will cover the amount required for our mortgage, I'm worried that they will discover the change and withdraw if I dont insist on doing it now.
So my question is, if I go back to my lender, how long will it take for them to reapprove the mortgage? I can prove what I will be receiving as a carer.
I'm so stressed. On top of everything else going on right now, I just need someone to say its doable....or not if the case maybe.

A lender is unlikely to say to you to keep quiet, was it the broker you spoke to?
Lenders have become strict and and they can and will ask for payslips"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

How long does a re look at our situation take?0 -
What's your OHs income?
What benefits do you receive and how much (some are acceptable for mortgage purposes, especially when one applicant works)?
How much is the property you are buying?
What's your deposit?
Any debts or bad credit history?
Is it just the one child?
What lender (they all have different criteria)?
How much disposable income do you have after paying out food, bills, travel, car, debts etc?
With limited information no one can say IF the mortgage offer MAY be ok or withdrawn.
We all know our own affordability is ok, but sadly the lenders have their own way of assessing it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Well I've already had that discussion and the lender is happy.
However no changes have been made. So I'd like to make those changes. How long do they take to be re approved?0 -

Have you gone direct or used a broker?0 -
I've gone direct.0

hopeful2020 said:I've gone direct.@hopeful2020 It'll depend on the lender in that case and imho (I'm biased towards brokers, never gone direct) will in most cases be longer than if you were doing it through a broker. If you can name the lender (and they're not a direct-only one like Lloyds), brokers on this forum may be able to give you an opinion of whether they are among the quicker/slower/average ones.
