 By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions for each competition you choose to enter. For example, if you only enter the online air competition during the competition period, then only the online competition terms and condition will apply to your personal circumstances.

1.       ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS

 

                i.            Entries are restricted to one entry per person.

 

               ii.            The only way to be in the draw to win the online prize is online at:

 2.       COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

 

2.1 HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS (“the competition mechanic”)

 

                i. Complete the competition entry form, which includes answering a multiple-choice question, on the online competition page during the entry period.

 

2.2 HOW TO WIN

            i.         One winner will be selected from all correct answers by random electronic draw.

           ii.         The winner will be contacted by a Bauer Media representative to claim their prize. If after 21 days the winner has not contacted Bauer Media to confirm their details, Bauer Media will select a new winner.

           iii.        The winner must fulfil all eligibility criteria (See 4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS)

 

2.3 COMING TO AIR

 The winner’s first name and hometown may be announced on Absolute Radio.

 

3.       ENTRY PERIOD

Entries for the online competition will be open from 00:01am on Thursday 25 June 2020 (the “start date”) until 11:59pm on Sunday 5 July 2020 (the “end date”).

 

4.       ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Entrants to the on-air and the online competition must fulfil all competition the specific terms and conditions mentioned below, in addition to Bauer Media’s Competition General Terms & Condition:

   ii.            Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.

 

 iii.            Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter.

 

 iv.            We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms.

 

   v.            If anyone has won a competition on any Bauer Media brand (see iv below) to the value of £500 or more in the past 6 months, they or any person at the winning address will not be eligible to win the competition. Winning the on-air competition will trigger this condition for the online competition.

 5.       THE PRIZE

                 i.            The prize value is £1,000 cash.

               ii.            The winner must fulfil all eligibility and entry terms and conditions.

             iv.            Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no alternative will be offered.

 

6.       OTHER CONDITIONS

 

6.1 DATA PROTECTION.

Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize.  Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. 6.2 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS.

By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

6.3 MISCELLANEOUS.

         i.            Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them.

        ii.            Participants may only enter once

      iii.            If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject.

      iv.            The correct answers to questions must exactly match our answers to win.

        v.            We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.

      vi.            You are responsible for all costs of entry.

     vii.            You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners.

   viii.            Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements.

      ix.            As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition / the Prize.

        x.            We may cancel / amend / end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.

                i.            When the Absolute Radio presenter opens the text lines, send a text message with your fun fact or life hack to 81215.

 

               ii.            Entries received before or after the on-air announcement may not be counted but you may still be charged for your text message.

 

             iii.            Texts messages cost 50p plus your standard message rate – all entrants must have the bill payer’s permission.

 

 2.       COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

 

2.1 HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS (“the competition mechanic”)

 

2.1.1 The Competition Mechanic will air during the Hometime Show (“the Show”) with Bush & Richie (“the presenters”) between 4pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday.

 

                i.            The presenters will open the text lines asking for listeners to text in with the fun facts and life hacks that made the listener feel great / amazed / enlightened when the listener first discovered them.

               ii.            Winning entries will be the fun facts and life hacks that impress the Presenters and the Absolute Radio production team with a feeling of amazement, astonishment, wonder when they discuss it on air.

             iii.            The ‘fun facts or life hacks’ must be factually correct as far as a basic internet search can be performed. That is to say, they can’t be invented by the entrant.

             iv.            Absolute Radio will not be held accountable for any fact which turns out to not be factually incorrect.

               v.            Basic examples of ‘fun facts or life hacks’ could be:

• You typically only breathe out of one nostril at a time.
• Humans are the only animals with chins.
• Nomophobia is the fear of not having a mobile phone.

             vi.            If you have a fun fact or life hack that you believe fulfils the entry criteria, text your entry to 81215. Text message costs are covered in Section 1.

            vii.            After the text lines have closed, the Absolute Radio production team will select a daily winner from the entries, and contact the winner on the mobile phone number they used to enter the competition.

          viii.            The Absolute Radio production team will also select a daily runner-up to award a prize of a smaller value. Refer to Section 5 for Prize details.

             ix.             The daily winner and/or the daily runner-up will be expected to follow the Absolute Radio production team’s instructions to give their answer to the presenter on the radio, although this is not a condition of awarding the prize.

           x.         If you text your entry after the closing time of the competition, you may still be charged but you will not be eligible to win the competition on that day. The Absolute Radio production team do however, reserve the right to bring your entry to air on a different day.

 

2.2 HOW TO WIN

 

                i.            You must have sent a text message with your competition entry to 81215 while the text lines are open. Text message lines will be opened and closed by on-air announcement during the competition. See ‘3. ENTRY PERIOD’ for specific dates.

               ii.            The Absolute Radio production team will select a daily winner and runner-up from the entries discussed during the Show.

             iii.            The Absolute Radio production team and Presenters will be looking for the fun facts and hacks that impress them with a feeling of amazement, astonishment and wonder when they read them out for the first time.

             iv.            You must be contactable by the mobile number you used to text your entry to 81215.

               v.            You must make every attempt to come onto the Show to discuss your entry with the presenters. Refer to Section 2.3.

             vi.            The Absolute Radio production team reserve the right to draw another winner if they are unable to contact you or if they decide you are not suitable or eligible to bring to air.

            vii.            Any final decisions rest with the Absolute Radio production team.

 

2.3 COMING TO AIR

 

Although this is not a condition to be awarded the prize, in the spirit of the competition, every winner will be expected to follow the technical instructions given to them by the Absolute Radio production team in order to come on the radio, speak with the Absolute Radio presenters and discuss their entry. In the event that the winner is unable to follow the technical instructions, Absolute Radio may instead announce the winner’s first name and their hometown.

 

3.       ENTRY PERIOD

 

The on-air competition will take place every day from Monday 29 June 2020 until Friday 05 July 2020 during the Hometime Show with Bush & Richie, between the hours of 1600 (4pm) and 1900 (7pm).

 

The open and close times of the text-in lines will be announced during the Show.

 

 4.       ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

 

Entrant to the on-air and the online competition must fulfil all competition the specific terms and conditions mentioned below, in addition to Bauer Media’s Competition General Terms & Condition:

             vi.            Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no alternative will be offered.
