Extension - Add to mortgage a good option?

Hi all,
Looking to get some works done to current property, figure of around 30k. Have 2 parts to mortgages with nationwide. Around 130k. I've always been against adding to the mortgage so are there any calculators anywhere to help figure out the cheapest route? I'm wondering if I would be better trying to put some of it on a loan / interest free CC. Only just starting to look so apologies if I've missed anything. Thanks all.

Unlikely you'll get an interest free credit card with a £30k limit. That's if all your suppliers would accept credit card payment.

Likewise an unsecured loan of that amount is neither going to be cheap nor attainable.

Another sub account added to the mortgage is your best route.

Cheapest way if you are able to meet the repayments is to add it to the mortgage, but what happens if your circumstances change?

Thanks all for the comments. Yes I wouldn't get a credit card / loan for the full amount just a small portion to save it going on the mortgage. Seems NW would just do it as an extra mortgage section so wouldn't actually add to my main mortgage cost which is good. What do you mean if circumstances change? Loose jobs become ill etc? We have insurances and a safety net for those events.
