You say your Dad is a retired QS, yet also that he is not good with money. QS's spend their life managing money.
With pension assets of £900k he probably has little to worry about.
Unless your parents ask you for advice, it is probably best to leave them to it. If you interfere, you risk getting their back up and they might think you are after a handout or concerns about inheritance.1 -
I'm a bit confused because in your first post you say your Dad retired 3 years ago, has been travelling the world for 6 months of the year for the last 2 years but has become 'ultra frugal and doesn't spend any money'.I can't see how travelling for 6 months of the year equates to being ultra frugal and not spending any money. Unless he's insisting that they backpack.Passiveincome said:Dad retired 3 years ago from being a quantity surveyor. Mum still works the odd bank shift as a nurse because she enjoys the job.
- Last two years... mum and dad had been traveling the world for 6 months of the year. Due to the virus can't travel.
Since retiring he has become ultra frugal and doesn't spend any money. He was on a decent salary and took early retirement. This is causing many money arguments between my mum and dad.
What are the money arguments about? If he's 65 now, won't his state pension kick in soon?My husband is 65, he gets his pension early next year.1 -
