Will Tesco Never Learn?

Last year I was unhappy when I read this,
“Tesco's claim to be 'cheaper than Aldi' has backfired after the UK's advertising watchdog found it had misled consumers. ... In its ruling, the ASA found the ads gave the overall impression consumers could save money by swapping from shopping at Aldi or Lidl to buying from the Exclusively at Tesco range”.
However, I brightened up this year when I saw this:
My elation was short lived for I then added a swede to my online shopping list and got these:
And the price? 80p each! That is £1.60 for the swede! If a swede can be taken as an example, why should Tesco customers have to pay through the nose for at least some Tesco products not chosen to match Aldi prices!!

I'm not really sure what point you're making. Tesco has never claimed everything they sell is priced the same as Aldi. The strategy is to take a hit on the most frequently bought products (which doesn't include swede, it's a fairly unpopular vegetable) so that people who prefer to shop at Tesco don't feel the need to go to Aldi. Those who prefer Aldi are free to shop there.7

Shocker in business prices the odd thing higher than another business.
I picked up some wraps in Tesco that were cheaper than Aldi, does that mean my whole shop will automatically be cheaper? No, no it doesn't.
If you don't like the price, don't buy the swede.
Also it says on the page for the swede:
'Minimum weight 400g each. You may get a whole, small swede or a portion of a large swede, which helps to reduce food waste'
Seems clear to me?2 -
Aldi do it as well in there adverts they compare to Tesco, but then in the small print say Tesco may sell some of there own brand items cheaper then what they have compared against. So they are basically comparing there own brand range to normal brands at Tesco.0

To get back to the subject of the thread.., you didn't sign in blood that you would buy everything from Tesco. Just get the swede cheaper elsewhere (I am a Southerner and love swede).0
