Electoral Roll and Deed Poll.

I changed my surname back in November and thought I had updated the electoral roll. Just applied for a mortgage and it has been declined as I'm not listed on the electoral roll under my new surname. I have sent the relevant e-mail to the electoral office, does this mean I can't have a mortgage until this is sorted? I've lived at the same address for the last 7 years and always been registered to vote. I'm worried I will lose the house I am buying.
