refund on my annual bus/train pass from Merseytravel

Any help or advice on the following

I have requested a refund on my annual bus/train pass from Merseytravel - but the refund amount does not take into account the ‘2 free months’ that is apparently included when buying this type of pass.  

There is no mention of this in the terms and conditions and I have been advised that this is just how they do it.  It seems very unfair - but I need a different approach to take with them and wonder if anyone can advise.....

 Which pass offers 2 months free? Not heard of that. You sure you're not confusing it with the discount the pass attracts for buying it seasonally?
