Moorcroft/Tesco Bank

My son has various debts with several companies, mainly pay day loans.  He has asked me to help and we have emailed several and are slowly gaining control.
He has however a large loan with Tesco which had been passed to Moorcroft (around 8k).  He emailed and offered to pay a monthly amount.  He has just received a letter back stating that Moorcroft are no longer responsible for collection on this account and control of the account has been returned to their client.

We have no details from Tesco Bank & haven't received any correspondence.  Will they write to us or should we email them?  Is it likely that this account will need to be paid in full - I have had some luck reducing his other debts of between 20-30%.
First time poster, TIA for any advice
