Lying about marital status on mortgage application

Hi
Im just asking on behalf of my friend
She has been living separate from her husband  1 and a half year now but still married. He has made an application for a mortgage and she thinks he could put under marital status  divorced/disssolved civil partnership
She wants to know will they bother checking that?
If she applies for mortgage will that lie effect her?
And if she informs the right people will he's application be denied?
Thanks

Tell your ‘friend’ to be honest with the application and if your ‘friend’ has any queries it’s best to speak to the potential lender and not a forum.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Until a financial consent order is in place. Either party can claim assets of the other. Best to get matters resolved.

Do you mean he is applying for a mortgage claiming he's still married?
is he, therefore, using her income as part of the application and including her in the application?

Is there any mortgage advisors in this forum?
Turns out He's mortgage was approved the company didnt even investigate if he was married or not or any dependent?
    Is that normal?
