Should a Mortgage Broker / Advisor present you multiple lenders and products?

Because when it's my money being spent I prefer to consider all the options myself rather than rely on someone else to do the thinking for me. It's me taking the risk after all. Yes they are 'experts' but that doesn't guarantee that they won't suggest a product that is more lucrative for themselves... it seems openess and transparency isn't the default setting here

Then you end up looking at non-HTB products for lenders who don't offer shared equity products and comparing them with the ones that do and reaching the wrong conclusion. The commission rates on mortgages vary in a range of perhaps 0.3% to 0.5% so it's hardly worth your career showing commission bias. Halifax HTB products are valid until 30/06/2021, many other lenders only issue offers valid for six months. What's your anticipated legal completion date?
