Credit checks on completion

I know this has bee discussed ad nauseum, however I can't seem to get hold of my mortgage broker to get some clarity. We are legally completing on the 17th of June, Halifax performed a second hard credit check and an affordability check on the 20th May, we haven't heard anything from them or our broker to let us know if anything has changed. We have been working throughout lockdown and no further credit has been taken. The solicitor seems to think that every thing is fine if we hadn't heard from the bank during this period so the question I have is that am I to assume we can expect no hiccups on exchange day? I have been reading way too many horror stories of drama on exchange day.

If your salary has been the same during this crisis and you did not go and cause adverse effects on your credit file I would expect you are good to go.

Our lender hard checked us twice, once was just before completion. Was 5 years ago but thought it was pretty common.

Thanks. One never knows in these times. We had a credit check in January before we got the offer and the second one was a few weeks ago. So fingers crossed no drama.

Yeah they will just be checking nothing has changed. If you haven’t heard anything then try not to worry, they probably would have let you know sharpish if there was an issue. Hope all goes well with completion!
