Legit Online Course Providers?

Options
Does anyone know of any genuine online course providers for functional skills, i lost money with one provider for not completing the course within the three month time limit, i was looking at Learndirect but the ratings and stories of people not getting their certificates has scared me off.
I was on a waiting list at my local college but with covid19 the situation has got worse and the local learning centres in my area seem to have all had their funding cut from before covid even started.

I agree with avoiding LearnDirect. Not much of anything positive comes up in any search though there must surely be some satisfied customers. There are a few others to look at you will need to do a lot of research yourself. Here are links to 2 that are near the top of the google list
Make sure before you sign up and spend any money that you have done your research and checked for any Ofsted reports. Are you employed? Your employer might offer something and if you are a trade union member they can also help (I know that Unison offer a huge range of courses for members). Lastly Covid 19 has played havoc with all classroom based learning so don't expect anything to change there before September.

  • Stonebridge are part of Learn Direct. Learn Direct are awful.

Check whether your local Council provide such courses or whether your local library can help. If you're unemployed, the JobCentre should be able to get you onto courses that will help you find work and I'd say functional skills would be something they'd help with. My Housing Association provides such courses so if you're a local authority or housing association tenant it's worth checking their websites for similar.
