Transfer work pension to private sipp?

Hi all,

I  have a work DC pension which I have been paying into for a while , and the company adds an extra 9% . It has approx £100k in it at moment.
The scheme itself is a bit limited with the fund choice, and fees are a bit bigger than private platform sipps.
Can I transfer my work pension cash /funds to a private sipp platform to reduce fees + better fund choice, while keeping the company pension scheme going for the extra 9% ?

Thanks

Craig

Ask your work pension provider if they allow a partial transfer out.

and fees are a bit bigger than private platform sipps.

You need to really double check this . Some workplace pensions have discounts that are not always obvious , especially if they are with one of the big names , like Standard Life, Aviva, Scottish Widows, Aegon etc .

Also SIPPS charges are different with every provider + of course the charges for the investments you pick.

My current workplace pension is cheaper than the SIPP I have ( but the SIPP has a wider choice) and my ex workplace pension has similar charges to the SIPP.
