Part exchanging with developer?

Not sure if this is the right thread but has anyone got any experience of this? Is it a con? Can’t find much info anywhere from people that have actually done it...

We are hoping to do this as well.I think they normally give you about 85-95% what your house is worth but they do pay your estate agents fees.I think it depends if you want to move quick or if you have got your heart set on a place and want to reserve it but have not sold yours yet.

Thanks, looking like we would have to buy a house north of £500k for them to take ours! Mortgage would be around £320k but it would be our last move so wondering if it’s worth it... and heard so many horror stories about new builds!!
