@Notepad_Phil when I change employer, even when I temp, I always sign up for the pension, which is why I've a few different ones. I would never not sign up, regardless of how low my wages were.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Just thought I would come back and update you, as I know when reading posts it's good to see what people have done.
I started making bigger overpayments on the mortgage a few weeks after posting. Between the capital repayments and overpayments that's coming down nicely.
3 months after posting I opened up my SIPP and transferred 3 of the pensions in; this was because I wasn't happy with their overall performance (ignoring Covid).
- I weighed up the options of keeping them as small pots and potentially being able to take some of them on retirement or merging them as a good start to my SIPP.
- I also pay a minimum of £100 in each month.
I've now also got 1/75th of my DB accounted for in my plans.
I'm still saving a lot of my income each month, as I am building up my various pots. It's too risky with my health not to get as much cash behind me as I can, job is as stable as anyone's is.
Any leftover birthday and Christmas money, plus any payrises are split ¹/3 each to mortgage, pension and savings.
Having worked out my outgoings without mortgage and work related expenses I know how much to aim for and full SP alone would cover my lifestyle, including running my little car. I've also done my SP check and read it all so know how many years I still need.
I'm now plotting early retirement as every £6k means one less year behind a desk.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
