Financial ombudsman service

I have searched the forum to find the correct area to post this/to see if it's been asked before with no luck
I filled in an online complaint to the financial ombudsman (took me over an hour)
I have submitted it and got the final page saying it had been submitted but received nothing in my mailbox (checked junk)
Iv left it two days and contacted the financial ombudsman by telephone to ask if it had been received and they said there is no sign of it but wait a week or so as there may be a delay. Would this be true as the email acknowledgement would be a generic response sent as soon as I submitted the complaint wouldn't it?
Thankyou

Did you ask if they provide generic acknowledgements?0

Anything submitted online takes a while to generate a case reference number. Ours took so long in the end, I called them to submit our complaint over the phone (not mortgage related).
Don't expect anything quick to happen, I am still waiting for a final outcome from the case we submitted in April 2019.1 -

If you are UNHAPPY with FOS, please read below and sign the petition:
"Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is not fit for purpose. Currently, 187,500+ cases have not been upheld by FOS. The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) scheme operates under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.....
There are many people who have been failed by the FOS since it has been formed. The appropriate action is to give your support as victims should not suffer in silence or fear. This only strengthens those who undermine your rights.
For public info, go on 'uk government website e-petition' on Google and search 'Government to Give More Power to SFO to Investigate All Financial Institutions'."
The above has been posted by a Truspilot user. I've just copied and pasted part of his/her review above.
