Finance for purchasing a powered wheelchair
Options
Now that lockdown is ending...!! I have to replace my outdoor powered wheelchair as I am spending too much on having the same fault fixed and I can now no longer use it as the same problem with it has returned.
The company I would like to buy from are not yet licensed to offer finance, and do not recommend dedicated mobility equipment finance providers as the APR they offer is between an eye watering 18 to 20%
I am working on a price of between £7000 and £8000, so wondered if anybody knows of any finance options I could look into? I do not want to use Motability due to previous experience. Likewise, although I walk around my bungalow, I do not want the cheaper option of a scooter as I would not be able to use buses or train.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

If you're having the same fault fixed then whoever is fixing it isn't doing the job properly and it's time to find someone else to do the repair. I'd certainly try that before spending several thousand pounds. If your only income is benefits then you'll find any borrowing expensive. I'm not sure what your previous issues with Motability were but they're often the better option especially if you're restricted to who you can borrow from.0
