endowment policy find it

hi we got an endowment policy in 1994- its lost we have no account numbers and no paper work don't even now who it was with. tried our old bank no luck, the woolwich helped with it but Barclays don't know a thing. any ideas please, might not be a lot but any little bit helps, many thanks jayne

    Look at your bank statement and see where the monthly payments for the endowment went to. The insurer name will be the payee.

    If you have no documentation and have no idea who the provider was,   can you even be sure that the policy you took-out in 1994 was an endowment and not some other type of policy ?

    If the policy was an endowment,  you would have received annual statements showing the progress of the policy.   Have you not been receiving these ?    Have  you moved  house and not told the provider ?

    As  dunstonh  says above,   check your bank statements which will tell you if you are still paying premiums.    You should be able to tell from this, the name of the provider   and the reference  number of the direct debit will probably be the policy number.

    I am trying to find out which company runs this endowment policy. The only ref I have to it is Stocks and shares ISA BRW PEP A/C ( 8 digits)  can anyone help?

    BRW is the Stock Exchange abbreviation for Brewin Dolphin, so I would start there.
