NHS pension: retiring and returning.

I am thinking of retiring from my nhs post after 43 yrs of service but want to return back in private hospital.
I am told that if i do return back in NHS i need to retire and return back after 24 hrs break if i want to but then require to do 16 hrs for month before increase my hours.
But what happens if i return back to private hospital and not NHS? is there same restriction?
Thanks in advance

CRV 1963 will be able to confirm but I think during covid pandemic -you don't need to work 16hrs- just 24hr break is enough..
Certain posts such as nurses are not able to earn more than what they were earning before retirement- unsure what the rule is if you go in private sector.

In some public sector jobs like teaching, you can't earn more than you did before you retired, and you'd have your pension capped to make that happen.
However, retiring before your NRA, taking a break of at least 24 hours removes that cap. Frankly if you retired a day before your retirement date, took your pension for one day and started a new contract and that would work.
I left my NHS job too long ago to be sure it's like that. Does your union rep have more info? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker1 -
The cap only applied if you retired and returned to NHS employment. With the Corona Act all you need is the 24 hour break in service before returning to NHS employment, under the act the rules about earning caps/ limiting working hours as an NHS pensioner have been suspended.mrseyes said:I am thinking of retiring from my nhs post after 43 yrs of service but want to return back in private hospital.

There is no time or earnings limit on working as an NHS pensioner in the private sector- hence the previous (possibly also current) route for Nurses to retire NHS then go work agency or private sector. So mrseyes- there is no restriction on your plan.CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!2
