Hi sorry for late reply, been away for a while due to family emergency.

Since I’ve been off here I’ve made more progress. Managed to pay an extra £200 off the MBNA C/C (0% ends soonest) and managed to put £100 aside for an emergency fund.

also set a bank account up for living from the month so managing to budget.. 1st time last month where we kept to that and didn’t have to transfer money around

What do people use to track there debt? Generate your own spreadsheet? Or is there decent downloadable ones

    Morning All

Reality hit yesterday, this is going to be a long road with the credit card debt, making extra payments just doesn’t seem to look a lot, I know it all adds up.

Silly Question Time - is it best to paid until your monthly direct debit payment has came out before making extra payments?

    Scenario

I have started to over pay £300 off MBNA C/Card the day after the DD, put now been paying an extra £10, £20 hear and there throughout the month.. would that effect my normal DD of £50?

    Thanks

you just need to be careful that your regular minimum payment goes out I once overpaid early an they said I missed a month.  if you have a DD it should go out whatever though

well done on keeping going.  it is a long road but you;ve stuck at it for a while and it does get easier

    Thanks Mark

Thats the last thing I want missing a DD, might just put the “extra” aside and add it to my original overpayment .. see how that works and hopefully not use it
