Three pensions - leave separate or merge together?

Hi All,
My partner has three separate pensions, one for his currently employer and two from previous employers.
We really don't know where to start in finding out whether we are betting leaving them as three separate pensions or merging them with his current employers pension.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

What type of pensions are they - defined benefit (aka as final salary) or defined contribution?
Does his current scheme accept transfers in?
