Positive thoughts? Ridiculous anxiety level waiting on mortgage decision

Hi
Application went in on 28 May. Have had to send some documents in, then it went to underwriting who asked for more documents. Now it’s back to underwriter. The more days that pass, the more the anxiety increases to the point of feeling sick.

The not knowing is absolutely unbearable because we just want to start getting organised/ excited about our own home and we can’t!
All I find online is negatively and am drawn to the “decline” posts. Torturing myself.
Can anyone provide positivity to help me through the next couple days of uncertainty?
Thank you
One of us Employed, one of us Ltd Co Director so Self Employed. 15% deposit. Sailed through AIP for what it’s worth

People who have problems tend to post online. People who dont have problems tend not to. So, the internet is generally a negative place to be.
Can anyone provide positivity to help me through the next couple days of uncertainty? Not really. We can share your pain whilst you wait but nothing we can do can make it better apart from saying that there is nothing wrong with being self employed or being a director. If you are not pushing limits and have issues that you consider negative and haven't been adversely affected by CV19 then you should be ok.

Was the application through a mortgage broker or direct?1

I keep creating reasons in my head about why it would decline, and then get a sick sinking feeling in my stomach. My broker said it will be tomorrow/ Wednesday for a decision. The days that go by with no answer just increases the anxiety!I know we will have a Plan B but I know my mental health will not cope with another application and the anxiety it entails, so I just want this one to be accepted!!0

I never stressed getting the DIP, when the application went in or having it processed over Christmas. Just told myself it wasn't going to work out and the purchase would fall through at the start of the process; I couldn't get my hopes up.
Nearly fell off my chair when the DIP was sent to me, needed a defib when I got the mortgage offer.
Then the virus hit, everything went on hold, my mortgage offer started to approach the expire date, but no extensions were being granted until after they expired. I burst out crying when the extension got granted and have been sitting in my lovely home and pottering in the garden for just over a month.
Technically, I should have been pooping myself all the way through, as mine was an adverse lender 🤫
Most people do get nervous, there's an "awaiting mortgage offer" thread where a lot of people go to support each other and let off steam.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
My mortgage application went in at the beginning of March and I'm still waiting on a decision. Have you had a valuation yet?
I get how you feel, trust me there's been tears and tantrums. I've had to send off so many documents, currently waiting for a closing statement from a credit card that I closed in February, they never issued a closing statement and I never realised to be honest. I'm hoping once this is submitted I'll get my offer. Still waiting to hear back from the valuation done on Friday.
Good luck0 -

I don’t know your situation so can’t offer hope, but I do offer sympathy! Our application last time was a nightmare, sailed through AIP only to come up against a wall with main application as we’d recently stopped claiming childcare help via tax credits and without a new statement proving there was no childcare (despite multiple other evidences!) they wouldn’t even progress to valuation. When they did eventually do so it was a long 2 week wait for it to go ahead, but we had the offer within 24 hours of it. It is SO stressful house buying (and selling), wondering if it’ll fall through, if the bank will change their mind, if everything will go wrong. But stay positive! No reason any of that will happen, easier said than believed though!0

It thought we had put your mind at rest two days ago Twiglet!
It takes some time to get a formal offer. You have to wait. That's it.
You are 90% of the way there already.
