I want a muzzle for our dog and was told there is a few different ones which you can buy. We have an alsation and she just isn't that friendly with strangers. What is the differences in muzzles and what one should I buy and which one should I definitely not? Any advice please?

Hi, we have a muzzle for our border collie as he chews the car on car journeys. We have a Mikki muzzle. Mikki's strong nylon fabric muzzle is soft and flexible and features an adjustable strap with "quick-fit" catch. Inhibits biting, chewing and barking but still allows panting and drinking. See https://www.petplanet.co.uk to buy one or e-bay have some on sale. You can also buy basket type muzzles which are made of leather but these tend to be more suitable for dogs with a wide muzzle like a rottweiler.

For advice on types of muzzles, you could try the Training & Behaviour Board on Dog Rescue Pages. Its main aim is to rehome rescue dogs, but there is great advice on there too, plenty of knowledgable people.
