Can't amend submitted self assessment tax return

As the title says, I can't amend submitted self assessment tax return.
Following the HMRC links it just goes in circles. I end up with the page:

If it is necessary for you to amend your return you may do so up to 31 Jan 2022.

Tax year ending 05 Apr 2020.

File on paper by:

31 Oct 2020

File online by:

31 Jan 2021

You can view your last submitted return using the HMRC Service. Click 'View return' to proceed.

View Return

When I click on View Return, I get to the page showing the submitted return number with the options

• View your calculation for your latest submitted return

• View/print/store your return onto your local drive

• Pay any outstanding tax you owe using How to pay

• Work with your current and previous returns in Tax return options

But none of these allow me to enter the return and then make the one amendment I want to make, I just go in circles back to the "More Tax Options" link?!
Please can anyone advise how to amend this return and re-submit please!?

Click on tax return options as it says. Choose a year and, I believe, amend this return comes up. Having said that, I notice that you only submitted it today and it is showing as ‘not yet received’. Give the system a day or so to update.

Thanks. It did seem odd that a simple 'amend' option wasn't available. Maybe that will appear after the submission is acknowledged? I just wanted to make the amendment now and get it finished!!

Great! Thanks for letting us know. Just be sure that you go through the whole submission process again and receive confirmation. I have come across a few doing this - amending but not submitting amendment.
