Teachers pension - missing!

TPS are indeed contracted out - but part of the refund process would have/should have involved TPS paying the CEP to HMRC thus making OP's service contracted in.Deleted_User said:I don't know about the teachers pension, whether it was contracted out or not. But if it was contracted out you can write a letter to the NISPI and they will give you the exact dates you were contracted out and into which scheme. Sample letter here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/77156419#Comment_77156419
However, I'm still struggling to get my head round how TPS could refund 10 years of emoloyee and employer contributions.0 -
In the letter you get back from NISPI it will state if the CEP has been paid and by whom (I have this on my reply from them as I had my CEP repaid on one of my government pensions)Silvertabby said:

It's worth asking on the TES Retirement forum. Lots of knowledgeable teachers on there. https://community.tes.com/forums/retirement.117/
As for the missing schools. They were presumably local authority schools. Contact the appropriate local council. You would have been employed by the council not the school. This was pre- academies etc I would guess?
The TPS are pretty hopeless at chasing missing contributions. I had to chase several years worth of contributions missing from Bucks County Council. It took a bit of chasing around departments with emails and phone calls but I got there eventuality, and that was 20 years on.0
