Hi all,
I'm hoping this lovely place can help.
I just there decided against taking out an AA loan, over the phone, frankly because I was unimpressed with their evidence upload portal for the last time. What I wasn't expecting was to get home to find my INTERNET had practically been TURNED OFF as far as browsing for a loan. Offers galore.... to ZERO. I'm a 40yr old debt free homeowner who has never defaulted on any transaction ever. Sorry to bleat on.

Is this response allowed, normal, legal..?
Thanks in advance.
C.T

What's your actual problem?  Lenders not lending shouldn't come as a great surprise.

..as far as online loan shopping goes yes. Shortly after i decided not to take out the loan (today) i promptly had all comparison sites rendered useless to me. Zero offers of loans returned when  previously there was and i qualified for many. I was just under the impression that not taking out a loan should not adversely affect anyone, when it seems to have massively in my case.

You're not meeting the criteria.  Nothing illegal, abnormal or wrong with it, but you should start by looking at your credit files

And check your internet is turned on.

There was no criteria looked at, they had called because a few images were of poor quality. I only cancelled to sort again at a later date because I was busy moving home.

Criteria are the basis of lending.

This is hard to make out because of the unstructured OP, but I suggest that the OP should review credit files since the AA loan application did not proceed to see if there is anything new in there.

As I understand it, the OP made a loan application to AA and then the AA found the OP's uploaded images (identification documents?) illegible and, rather than persevere to resolve, the OP got frustrated and pulled the plug on the whole thing.  After this, the OP found there were no loan offers available via comparison sites.

If my understanding is correct, then there are a couple of ideas why the loan offers may have been withdrawn:
    1. too many applications too quickly looks desperate and affects desirability - the application to AA may already have gone through to credit file.
    2. AA is only a trading name, it is possible all the offers initially available were from essentially the same lender and they just see the OP as a timewaster, so pulled their offers.  As all the offers were from the same lender, that left zero offers.
    3. AA may have put a fraud marker on the account as the OP provided illegible identification documents and then pulled it, could have looked like a dishonest attempt?

Just some random ideas for the OP to consider.
