My so called friend is claiming my money back from Amigo loans
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
I'd also advise your friend that if he makes a successful claim through this company, he is liable for their fees based on the refund that is payable by Amigo NOT what he receives.
The claims company will want paying their full amount still even if the receiver gets every penny and that will be what your friend agreed to. They maybe deemed bottom feeders and charge vast amounts for vety little work that you or your friend could do for pennies one bored Saturday afternoon in lockdown.
What they probably excel in is finding people and making them pay up or trashing their lives (legitimately I may add) if they don't (force them down insolvency or put charges on property or restrict their ability to borrow).
I think things may be a little different with Amigo.
If the loan wasn't written off as part of the bankruptcy, and the guarantor instead paid off the loan. then the account didn't form part of the bankruptcy estate and the OR has no claim to any refunds made under the agreement - nor should the original borrower, only the guarantor.
OP, you'd better get a letter into Amigo sharpish explaining the above.
