Should I over pay on mortgage or put money in savings?

We are on a 35 year fixed rate mortgage, due to renew in 3 years and have some money in savings. Should we overpay on the mortgage or leave the money in a savings account and use it when we come to sell and buy a new home / renew the mortgage on this house?

What’s the interest rate on your mortgage and your savings account? If mortgage higher than savings, overpay. If savings higher than mortgage, save it.0
