Financial Ombudsman - Multiple Complaints?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to make a complaint to FOC regarding multiple loans that I was granted. Can anyone tell me if this must be several individual complaints or should be a combined single complaint?

If they need to be individual per company can you still reference the other loan details as they were on file and should have had an impact on the loan company's decision?

Thanks in advance ;)

Have you exhausted the lenders complaints proceedure?

Yet another case of irresponsible borrowing.

Unless the loan companies forced you to take more money that you never asked for, you are wasting everyone's time.

You'll need to first of all exhaust the loan companies internal complaint handling procedure before the FOS will be interested.

You'll need to provide each loan company with evidence supporting your claim that they didn't undertake due diligence when assessing your ability to repay the loan. You'll need to be sure the information you provided them during the loan applications was accurate or your complaint could turn into an admission of fraud.

As long as you provided accurate information during each application and you've got what you consider to be a good case with evidence to support the loan firms didn't exercise due diligence when assessing your ability to repay go ahead and raise formal written complaints to each lender.

If they send you a letter refusing your complaint marked as a "Full and Final" response, or eight weeks pass without a resolution, you can at that point escalate each complaint to the FOS as separate complaints.

When you applied for these loans were you aware that you could not afford to repay them?

It's not for you or I to judge whether or not a fellow forum member has acted inappropriately, or whether the lender has acted without due diligence. That's for the FOS to decide.
