Natwest loan refused due to new internal Coranavirus rules
My mother has a loan with Natwest and wants to extend it for a new kitchen. She passed all the credit checks and was greenlighted for it to go ahead, but a Natwest manager then blocked the application. She was told Natwest have implemented a new rule, implemented specifically due to Covid, to say you cannot extend your loan until 18 months have elapsed since you took out the original loan. This means she is now no longer eligible until December.
Has anyone else come across this? There is no mention of it on the webpage for extending existing loans and she is understandably peeved off.

Lending criteria are subject to constant change.
She can apply elsewhere if she's desperate.2
