PP short term cash / investment thoughts

I currently have £130K sat in cash in a PP portfolio and I'd like to get your thoughts; should I leave it as cash or should I put it in a managed fund. I'm asking because it will only be where ever I put it for a short time, 3-6 weeks while I decide which IFA to use.

If you had wanted to buy something with the money then you would be extremely foolish not to keep it in cash.  However if it is to remain invested for the long term, but you dont know where, then tbh it doesnt really matter whether you keep it in cash or buy a broadly based fund.  For a period as short as a few weeks it is pretty much a 50/50 chance whether you will win out or not.  To save costs I guess it could be marginally better to keep it in cash.

When do you plan to spend the money?
It seems unlikely that 3-6 weeks is the investment timescale if you are going to the trouble of looking for an IFA.
Bear in mind that it will take some time for an IFA to make a formal investment recommendation, due to the need to conduct fact-finding and analyse your existing PP, so it's more likely to be a few months rather than a few weeks. However, either way it's essentially a coin flip as to whether a managed fund would make a loss or a gain in between now and whenever the IFA gives their recommendation.
The simple answer is that you should do whatever you would be doing if you weren't going to see an IFA.
