Self Employed Sole Trader Spreadsheet

I am a Sole trader and have made a commitment to myself that this year i will be fully in charge of my accounts! i have a very basic spreadsheet tat enables me to do my annual tax return, but wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of a free or low cost spreadsheet that could support me in this? i have had a good google but i'm dubious about downloading from un-recommended sources.

What are your Excel (assuming you're using that application) skills like?  Are you working with multiple pages and automatically linking totals to a summary page for example?

Thanks for responding ,Yes my excel skills are reasonable. Month per page with totals linking to first page.
it does the job, just about but its messy and i'm not sure i cover all the correct sub categories etc.
i was going to sit and design a new one but i know it will take me hours and was hoping that there may be something out there that already exists!
