Amazon return Hermes lost my package amazon won't Refound

Hi ,

I have sent a return to Amazon on the 20th of May .
It was sent using Hermes which I knew was not a good idea but Amazon would only provide this service .

The item in question was an av receiver which costs £410.

It has been 15 days and the item is still not delivered and I have no updates on the return website since the 22nd of May.

I have contacted Amazon and they say that they will provide a Refound once the item is received .
I am very desperate as it looks like the item was lost or stolen.

Can you advise please?

    Did Amazon provide a pre paid return label and do you have any proof of posting? if so contact them again and say that as you used their service and can prove item was returned it is up to them to chase it and refund you.

    Amazon can seemingly take a while to process a refund. If you have proof of sending/collection then there shouldn't be a problem. After 15 days though I'd get on to live chat and ask. Maybe have a scan of sending receipt available.
    They'll probably refund you while you're on live chat.

    Exactly as RFW says! Back in 2017, Hermes lost a faulty £350 home cinema kit I was returning to Amazon.  The driver was supposed to turn up with a pre-printed delivery label, but didn't.  He promised he'd get it sorted back at the depot.  I'd already written out Amazon's Dunfermline return address on a sticky label, just in case, so I stuck that on.  Sure enough, Amazon claimed they never received it, but I had the collection receipt which the Hermes guy had given me, and Amazon refunded me when I sent them a photo of it on live chat.
