No hard check yet?

Full application went in a week ago but still no hard check showing on credit file? Does that seem odd?

Nope, you need to wait as there is a backlog. Did you use a broker? You can chase through them.

Bare in mind my offer came in 6 weeks and it was a remortgage.

Yes I used a broker. I had a text from lender on the day application was submitted, they wrote to broker for further info, which was provided and then they wrote to broker again, a standard message saying valuation instructed. I understand there may be a backlog but I’d expect a hard search to be the first part of the process? Also they are quoting an average time of 8 days on website and I’m on day 7

Our hard search with Barclays was done at the underwriting stage (twice, may I add). Underwriting is the last stage before the decision is made, so you may not have had the check yet.
