Remortgage but I have a poor credit history

Good evening, can anyone please offer up any advice on the following. I am currently on a interest only
mortgage with what was the old northern rock now landmark, I have been On interest only for 13 years. I have 12 years left on the current term. Mine and my wife’s credit file is not great but I want to remortgage so I can make the house mine over the next 20 years by getting a deal that sees my balance reducing and the stress of interest only gone. I have paid dead money it feels for 13 years now. Being 41 and in full
time employment, I want to somehow get this mess sorted.
The mortgage is around 112k and it as a 25k unsecured loan attached with it from when we took out the original mortgage.

Always a good idea to overpay as much as you can, but like everything mortgages, it is based on affordability. Have you looked at a broker to see your options?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
