Finance items after split

hello, I have recently split with my partner and we have agreed a sum for child maintenance. I am wondering where I stand with items which are in my name on finance. I have a sofa and other items on finance and my ex partner has put these into storage after moving in with her new partner. Due to these being in my name can I legally get these back? Sofa is only 4 months old.  Thanks for your help

You would need a court order, or her agreement.

So the child support is sorted (I must ask, are the children definitely yours?)
As for the items, if you are paying for them, they are yours, why are they in storage? Who is paying for the storage?
  • Ye defiantly mine. Items are in storage due to ex moving in with somebody else. Believe they are planning on moving and wanting to take the items which I am in a contract with. Main thing that is annoying me is the sofa (£2700 from DFS)

The price from DFS is probably inflated, anyways the fiancé is in your name and the item is yours to use, I still don't get why you let her take the items an put them in storage?
Sometimes you have to put yourself 1st as you have discovered others may not .
  • I didn’t really have a choice as I moved home with parents so she kept the house hold times and we agreed that I would get some of them back when she was moving as the rented property was too expensive for one of us to keep on our own. She then put all the items into a storage unit without my agreement. She had said I would get the items back I am still paying for but is starting to go back on her word. I believe it’s because she has split with her now partner and is forced to find a new house and wants an easy life with the items I have paid for. I have even offered her 100 pounds towards getting a new sofa. I have agreed she can keep everything else apart from 3 items which I am contracted to.

From my seat you did have a choice.
What you believe happened with her new partner is irrelevant really, where are you going to store the sofa when you get it back?
