Matched betting and trading

Made a new thread as last 1 a little unclear.

Applying to port my mortgage and not sure if port will be completed by Tesco or Halifax. Will they check my bank statements? The reason I ask is that I've done some 4 figure matched betting and trading

It is a potential negative on your overall scenario.  However, it doesnt automatically mean rejection.
A typical mortgage application will have things going for and against it.    The lender looks at the overall scenario.   If you are pushing limits in other areas or have other issues as well then it could be the thing that tips you into a rejection.   However, if everything else is looking good, then this potential negative will not be enough to push you into a rejection.

Lenders have different views on issues.  Some cherry pick and have a high threshold to pass. Others are lower.     A local mortgage broker is often the best place to go when you have potential issues.

In a ideal world, you should do you MBing and Trading on a different account. As other posters have said, it may have a negative effect but depends on the lender.
For the matched betting all the lending is going to see are large sums of money going to and from bookmaker accounts and betting exchanges - a layman would assume you are quite a big gambler although this is not the case.

The trading is a bit more concerning....FX? Shares? Virtual currencies? What edge or knowledge do you think you have versus the professionals with their high speed algos that have to info fractionally before you do?
