Contents Insurance

i informed Swinton that I have been made bankrupt as per the T&Cs of the home contents policy and they said they will no longer be able to offer me insurance as of today. Apparently I’m higher risk all of a sudden. So then.... who do you use for your home contents insurance after bankruptcy?

This is very common and comes up on here a lot..go on the price comparison site and check the assumptions and terms and conditions.

I'd personally use a comparison site, find who is cheapest, and then ask them direct, work your way down the list until you find someone suitable.

Comparison sites are a good idea most times BUT sometimes they offer what seems a good deal on cover but wont allow once they know about bankruptcy.........to add to the list i've been with Royal Sun Alliance More than insurance since 2006 (when bankrupt) they've been really good even had a couple of claims in the past paid out no issues.....and if you or a family member are NHS staff they offer a small discount as well

that's why I was saying to ask each company, as in go to the companies website find a means of contact and ask them if bankruptcy is an issue

Thanks for the advice, I’m gonna get on it tomorrow and see who will accept me. I did actually ask swinton why I was suddenly high risk and just got told it’s bankruptcy. I was just genuinely interested in why I’m any different than a month ago
  • Mt shipment has arrived at my rental property from Cyprus.  I can't get back to the UK until 3rd August due tp Cyprus Airports being closed.  I need to insure some of the contents.  Is there a company that would insure approx £6000 of goods which are currently in packing cases but in an empty house?

Be best if you start your own thread as your query is absolutely nothing like OPs.
