Nhs pension dates calculation. Help please

Hi I hope someone can help with my query. I'm in the NHS 95 special class pension. I have read the booklets and the website. I'm aware it's based on the last 3 years of your pay. 
My question is is the pay years calculated March to March tax years or from the date you wish to take the pension, for example September to September? If I take the pension in September.

The final three years are calculated from your last day you worked for the NHS. So if you finish on 30th August and take the pension on 1st Sept, the three years will be 1/09/2017-30/08/2018, 1/09/2018-30/08/2019 and 1/09/2019-30/08/2020, the highest pensionable pay in one of these three years will be your "final salary" for pension purposes.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! That's just what I needed to know. I'm planning on returning part time. Been building the unsocial hours up this year. The forecast isn't out yet for 2019/20.
