Cutting down on grocery shop

My average spending on groceries at Tesco is £300 a month. This is for me and my partner. This seems way too much. Was wandering How much other people spend on groceries and any advice on how to cut down. I like to eat healthier food which seems to be costing me a lot more. If anyone has any other advice on saving money as well that would be great.

Come and have a read of the grocery challenge thread. also note down what you spend and where you spend it for a month first so you can see where you're spending the most and where improvements could be made.1

Does the 300 include cleaning materials, toiletries, alcohol or pet food? There's only two of us and we probably spend between 250-300 a month. That does include cleaning materials and toiletries but not alcohol which we buy separately. At the moment we're only shopping once a week so are spending a bit less. It's so stressful going round the supermarket with the one way system and social distancing. I make a meal plan which includes lunches as well as dinner and then a list.0

Before lockdown I was spending £500 per month on food for two people, but this included annual delivery passes for Ocado and Morrisons, delivery charge for Abel & Cole, all toiletries, cleaning stuff, kitchen disposables and booze. Now I'm spending more but minus the Ocado delivery pass and booze. I've had big probs getting deliveries so used butchers, farm shops, delis.
Saving money on food is more difficult now. MySupermarket, the price comparison site, folded in March. I am finding that I'm not allowed to get multiples of special offers. There's a big shortage on eggs, which are useful for adding protein to a fry up with things like veggie fingers or potato waffles. Pasta was out of stock everywhere for awhile. I got some great prices from a farm which normally grows for restaurants and a game dealer who normally sells at farmers markets. Whole wild rabbit for 4.20, frozen pigeons, pheasants, partridges £4 each or 3 for £10.0 -
