DD wants to buy after renting, she has £10k in savings and the house she would like is £150k, she can get 50% ownership or maybe more but now needs to get a mortgage in principal for £75k or £90k.  Halifax said no as she does not have 15% deposit!
What would you recommend?

I am a shared ownership mortgage specialist and have been for 14 years
A lot of lenders have now increased their deposit requirements due to covid however there are still some  10% and 5% deposit available. They are not lenders that you will find walking up and down the high street though.
Best bet is to speak to a broker - you can contact someone from here (we are not allowed to contact people but are happy to respond if people contact us first) or speak to a whole of market broker elsewhere to get options
